Prayers for Unborn From Juneau, Alaska

CHAPLET FOR THE UNBORN
(To be prayed using Rosary beads)
Crucifix: O God, You created every part of us; You made all the delicate, inner parts of our bodies. When our bones were being formed, carefully put together in our mothers’ wombs, when we were growing there in secret, You knew that we were there—You saw us before we were born. You scheduled every day of our lives before we began to breathe; every day was recorded in Your Book! (Psalm 139.13, 15-16, adapted) Lord Jesus, look with favor and give peace to the unborn child, to the mother and father of the unborn child, and to those who work to save the helpless unborn child. Please Lord, listen to our prayers. Amen.
Our Father
Three Hail Mary’s
Glory Be
1st Scripture Meditation: So God created human beings, making them to be like Himself. He created them male and female, blessed them, and said, “Have many children, so that your descendants will live all over the earth…” (Genesis 1.27-28) O God, please convert the hearts of those who seek, support, and perform abortions; and help them to see that the unborn babies were created by You, in Your Image, for Your greater glory. Amen.
All decade beads: O Lord, our Lord, Your greatness is seen in all the world! Your praise reaches up to the heavens; it is sung by children and babies. (Psalm 8.1-2)
2nd Scripture Meditation: Children are a gift from God; they are His reward. (Psalm 127.3) O God, the Giver of Life, let all people see that every unborn baby is a gift from You. You give our bodies breath so that we may praise You all the days of our lives, and only You shall take Your breath from us. Amen. O Lord, our Lord, Your greatness…
3rd Scripture Meditation: The angel Gabriel came to Mary and said, “Peace be with you! The Lord is with you and has greatly blessed you! Don’t be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you. You will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus.” Mary said to the angel, “I am a virgin. How, then, can this be?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and God’s power will rest upon you. For this reason the holy child will be called the Son of God. For there is nothing that God cannot do.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” said Mary; “may it happen to me as you have said.” (Luke 1.28, 30-31, 34-35, 37-38) O God, help every mother to say “Yes!” to Your Will for her and her unborn baby, just as Mary did; and help them to place their trust in You, for there is nothing You cannot do! Amen. O Lord, our Lord, Your greatness is seen in all the world! Your praise reaches up to the heavens; it is sung by children and babies.
4th Scripture Meditation: At that time the disciples came to Jesus asking, “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of heaven?” So Jesus called a child to come and stand before them, and said, “I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven. The greatest in the Kingdom of heaven is the one who humbles himself and becomes like this child. And whoever welcomes in My Name one such child as this, welcomes Me. See that you don’t despise any of these little ones. Their angels in heaven, I tell you, are always in the presence of My Father in heaven.” (Matthew 18.1-5, 10) O God, help us all to stand humbly before You, our Creator, and let us welcome every unborn baby in the Holy Name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen. O Lord, our Lord, Your greatness…
5th Scripture Meditation: Some mothers brought their babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. The disciples saw them and scolded them for doing so, but Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the children come to Me and do not stop them, because the Kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” (Luke 18.15-16) O God, we present every unborn baby to You now. Please touch and bless them; and help their parents place their trust in You. Amen. O Lord, our Lord, Your greatness…
Final Meditation: A large crowd of people followed Jesus; among them were some women who were weeping and wailing for him. Jesus turned to them and said, “Women of Jerusalem! Don’t cry for Me, but for yourselves and your children.” (Luke 23.27-28) O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee! Hail Holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, O most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the Blessed Fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Queen of Peace, pray for us. Amen
